"Let's entwine our fates together with my magic!”
For our eighth edition of Spotlight on IRIAM: Meet The Streamer, we’re joined by Ivyra Violette. She has a big love for art and comics, which she is currently in college for. Ivyra has been practicing art seriously for around 9 years, hopes to release her own comics someday!
For now, she reads a ton of manga and manhwa in her spare time — mostly shoujo/romance themes. Ivyra is also obsessed with rhythm games like Project Sekai and Muse Dash! For other games, she skews towards RPG horror like Misao, and Mad Father even though she doesn’t get scared easily. Visit her streams to learn more about her and transform the ordinary moments of life into beautiful art!
What inspired you to become a VTuber?
I’ve been in the Vtubing community for a really long time! In fact, I learned about it from Kizuna Ai when she had only posted a few times! So, to be part of something for so long, I think it’s inevitable that you’ll eventually find yourself more drawn to it. I had thought about it for a long time, and even drawn multiple designs for myself to become a Vtuber! The only thing — or person, rather — that actually pushed me to try becoming a Vtuber was my best friend! She had faith in me, so I took a chance. I’ll forever be grateful that I did!
Can you tell us a bit about your creative background before joining IRIAM?
Before IRIAM, I had tried on and off to become a content creator of sorts. While I certainly posted videos, it never seemed to work out for me. Instead, I mainly focused on art! It’s a big part of my life, so I post illustrations all the time. As long as I could keep doing that, I was happy no matter who saw it.
“Even though it was out of my comfort zone at the time, I’m so glad I did it.”
What first drew your attention to IRIAM, and what made you decide to join the platform?
Actually, I saw the ads for IRIAM when they were auditioning the first wave of Founding Streamers. Instead of thinking about myself, I ended up sending it to my best friend, who I knew would love the opportunity. That person was accepted and is now known as Veronia Vvinter! After her debut, Roni constantly asked if I was thinking about joining IRIAM. I really loved the platform, but I’m a shy person, so I never really thought I’d be accepted in an interview process. Roni managed to convince me otherwise! She informed me the day that applications reopened, and I applied right away. Even though it was out of my comfort zone at the time, I’m so glad I did it. To put it simply, it’s probably one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.
Your model represents such a big part of your identity as a VTuber. How did it feel when you got to choose a model provided by IRIAM? What made this one stand out or feel right?
I was super excited about picking a model that IRIAM provided. I think I would have been happy no matter which one I picked. Initially, there were three options for me. Each one felt like a different version of myself, but the moment I saw them, I knew the model I ended up choosing was the one. There was no question in my mind. I instantly connected with it, like it was just meant for me in the first place. Honestly, I’m not sure what made it so perfect. I just knew that was me.
Since joining the platform, you’ve achieved a lot - from event wins to con appearances. How did it feel to have your efforts recognized, and is there a particular milestone that has defined your journey so far?
I’m really amazed by the achievements I’ve managed to reach so far. It’s unbelievable to me sometimes, like I’ve been dreaming about it the whole time. I’m so thankful for everything. If I had to choose just one thing as the milestone that’s defined my journey, I might pick something really cliché… From the start, my main goal was just to make people’s day a little better if I could. So the biggest achievement for me was when I had people telling me that I had exactly what I did for them. I think those who watch my streams might disagree, though, so for them I’ll say it’s when I got first place in the Offkai poster event! It was my first ever event that I placed first in, and to have the poster hanging up in my room is truly amazing.
You’ve also participated in events the OffKai virtual meet and greet. What was that experience like, and how did it feel meeting fans in person?
Meeting fans in person was amazing. I was so nervous that I was physically shaking, and I’m sure those whom I talked to could hear my voice shaking… But meeting them and seeing them made me so happy. I actually cried with happiness afterwards! I’m really just so thankful for anyone who supports me.
If you could give one piece of advice to someone hoping to follow in your footsteps at IRIAM, what would it be?
I’ve had some people ask me for advice before, and I always tend to say the same thing. What I achieved on IRIAM was purely through being myself. I always made sure that I enjoyed the streams I was doing, no matter what. So, my number one advice is to just keep being you. Make sure the person who enjoys your streams the most is yourself! That way, no matter what happens, at least you’re still having fun and enjoying what you do.
What are some memorable moments or streams you've had on IRIAM?
A memorable moment for me was when I did my first karaoke stream. It doesn’t sound like much, but I convinced myself that I’d never sing live because I didn’t sound good. I do love singing, though, and something just pushed me to do it eventually. Somehow… people actually liked my singing. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely didn’t sound the best. However, hearing that it wasn’t as bad as I thought actually gave me the confidence to keep learning. I even take singing lessons every week… Without IRIAM, that never would have happened.
What kind of streams can viewers expect from you on the platform?
I stream daily on IRIAM, so I mainly just chat at the end of my days. I like to talk about what happened during the day, the things I enjoy doing or watching, and simply relax. A lot of the time, I’ll be working on a new illustration during my streams! Overall, I just want to create a space where people can come and destress for a while. So, what you can expect is typically just a chill and fun vibe!
Do you have any upcoming projects or events we can look forward to?
For upcoming projects… I’ve been working on drawing and rigging my own model for a long time. I’m starting out by making myself a new outfit, so I hope everyone can come see all the hard work I’ve put into it once it’s done! If it’s successful, then I’d really like to make my own 2.0 model entirely from scratch!
