For our third edition of Spotlight on IRIAM: Meet The Streamer, we’re joined by Celes Aurion! She’s IRIAM US’ resident DJ cat girl - bringing music, fun, and a whole lot of energy to your mornings! Whether you’re into chill beats or high energy mixes, Celes has got something for everyone! She also streams on Twitch in the evenings for those who want to hang out longer!

What inspired you to become a VTuber?

Last year, I was out of work, injured, and feeling pretty lonely. I was struggling in college and didn’t know what to do next. Then, while scrolling through TikTok, I saw a VTuber playing games and thought, “I could do that.” I’d streamed for years before, but always on camera, and the setup felt like a chore. VTubing was a whole new world to experience - it let me just sit down, load up some games, and jam out without the weight and restriction of always being in front of a camera. Plus, it’s brought me closer to an incredible community and given me a creative outlet that feels like home.

Did you have any experience with content creation before becoming a VTuber? If so, how did those past experiences influence or shape the way you approach your content now?

I started streaming back in 2020 and built a small but loyal following. Life got busy, and streaming became tough to maintain, but those experiences taught me a lot. I learned things like how to keep a consistent schedule, use tools like OBS and Elgato, and engage an audience. When I switched to VTubing, that foundation helped me hit the ground running, and I’ve been able to focus more on the fun parts, like interacting with chat and trying new content ideas, without worrying about the technical side as much.

“This was my chance to dust off that passion and mix it into my streams."

While the VTuber scene is rather closely tied to music, it’s not often that you come across a DJ. What made you want to incorporate that into your persona?

Such a good question! I’d been dabbling in DJing for years, but it took a backseat when life got busy. My old deck even snapped in half, and I didn’t bother replacing it. Then IRIAM handed me this awesome cat girl model, and it hit me: this was my chance to dust off that passion and mix it into my streams. I didn’t plan to go full-on DJ at first, but once I started spinning live, the response was unreal. Fellow DJs, music lovers, and even other VTuber DJs showed up to vibe in my chat! I could tell we were all having a great time! My community, the Cypherkittens, even rallied to get me an awesome new deck, mic, and audio setup to make my sets even better. For me, DJing is all about sharing energy through music, and IRIAM’s real-time connection with my audience makes every moment feel incredible; there’s nothing else like it!

Not only are you a daily streamer on IRIAM, but you also stream on Twitch as well as participate in events. How do you stay on top of streaming as well as these side projects?

Pure, glorious insanity, haha! I’ve streamed 185 days straight on IRIAM without missing a beat, and I’m still loving every minute of it. The real secret? My amazing community, they’re there every day, counting on me to drop good tunes and vibes, and I’d never let them down. Outside VTubing, my life’s pretty chill, so these streams and events are what get me out of bed with a smile on my face every morning. Pro tip: a trusty calendar keeps all my Twitch streams, events, collabs, and IRIAM sets from turning into chaos!

Do you have any advice for creators who struggle with juggling multiple commitments?

It’s really simple: do what you love, and the time will magically appear. If you’re streaming daily and feeling bogged down, it might be a sign you’re not vibing with your content anymore. I’ve been there, early on, I tried streaming stuff just because I thought people expected it, and it sucked the fun right out, made each stream feel monotonous, and lacked the energy and fun both my community and myself enjoyed. But when I leaned into DJing, something I adore, I can’t wait to get online each day. Focus on what lights you up, and pair it with a schedule you can stick to, and the community will find you. It’s worked wonders for me!

I’m so lucky to have this chance with IRIAM, and I’m beyond grateful."

You’re also the first founding streamer to earn the rights to your VTuber model - an incredible achievement! What motivated you to keep going through such a journey, and how did it feel when you finally reached that goal?

My community, again, they’re the heartbeat behind it all, they keep me going every single day. When I started on IRIAM back in November, I set a wild goal: be the first to every milestone I could hit, 100 days, 1000 followers, and ultimately, those model rights. I wanted to leave my mark. It wasn’t always smooth sailing - there was scuff, even on day one, when tech glitches tested my patience. But crossing that finish line as the first founding streamer to own my model? That was huge. It felt like proof I’d made it. My community, fellow VTubers, and even my manager surprised me with a congrats video that had me bawling on stream. I’m so lucky to have this chance with IRIAM, and I’m beyond grateful.

It's clear that you've fostered a very supportive community! Was this something that you set out to build from the start, or did it grow naturally? How does your community inspire or influence your content and streams?

From even before day one on IRIAM, building a tight knit community was one of my top priorities, and the Cypherkittens have become the heart of my streams! I poured my love into sharing music and good vibes, showing up daily to connect and be real with my audience. They inspire my content constantly, like picking great songs for Friday request days or suggesting genres they’re hyped for during my daily sets. They’ve even rallied to get me better gear to make my streams shine ever brighter. Their energy fuels new ideas, like VRChat DJing, and keeps me excited to be there every morning!

Can you also tell us a bit about the VTuber group you founded on IRIAM? What inspired you to create it, and what's it all about?

It’s called VeKind and it’s my passion project - a group of VTubers all about spreading kindness, love, and support! With artists, gamers, idols, and teachers all vibing together, we inspire and support each other. I founded VeKind because I wanted a space where VTubers could grow, collaborate, and lift each other up as well as others, just like my Cypherkittens do for me. Streaming’s joy fueled me to build a group that actively works to create positivity in our content and the VTubing world as a whole, from events like our 24 hour rally for the Trevor Project in April, to our upcoming Road to OffKai and beyond. We’re crafting something special, and I can’t wait to see it blossom!

What kind of streams can viewers expect from you on the platform?

Get ready for some serious DJ action on IRIAM! My streams are all about spinning tracks from chiptune bops to hardstyle bangers and chill deep house grooves - there’s something for every mood. Every Friday, I hand the reins to my viewers, and we vibe out to their picks together. It’s a blast discovering new songs and artists through their choices, it’s like a musical adventure with the best community around - my CypherKittens!

What are some memorable moments or streams you've had on IRIAM?

Oh boy, where do I even begin? There’s the day “Celery Onion,” my silly nickname, became a thing and started popping up all over the internet, which still cracks me up. My 100 day stream was pure love, with my community showering me with support that left me speechless and crying a lot…live. And then there was that windy day when my music setup failed, so we ditched the tunes and chatted for four hours about everything and anything (yes, pineapple does belong on pizza). Every stream’s got its own rhythm and vibe, I can’t help but smile thinking about each one of them!

Do you have any upcoming projects or events we can look forward to?

Absolutely, I’ve got some epic stuff coming up! On May 31st, I’m hitting my first ever rave in Little Tokyo, thanks to the awesome VTuber Fan Events crew and with IRIAM even help sponsor the event. I’ll be DJing alongside Mono Monet, with killer IRL DJs joining the party as well, plus meet and greets with streamers from IRIAM, SVP, and us!

Then, June 20th and 21st, I’m hosting “Nyan Nights” at OffKai from 6 PM PST to midnight (or later, knowing us!). I’m bringing together talented DJs and performers from IRIAM and beyond, complete with The Oshi Bar serving drinks one night, all with IRIAM’s sponsorship as well. I also have some other news coming soon I can’t quite reveal yet, but it’s going to be phenomenal!

I’m so stoked to meet fans and vibe with everyone, these events are gonna be unforgettable! Thanks for letting me share my IRIAM journey, we’ve come so far already in such little time. Who knows where we will be by this time next year? 5000 followers? A full year of VTubing? Only time will tell, but I know I’ll still be creating sets and letting the music flow on IRIAM. For now, as always, take care of yourself, take care of each other, and be kind. OtsuMeow!
