IRIAM Rookie Cup

The Rookie Cup is a seven-day event for your Rookie Class — the streamers who debuted the same month as you. There's one every month, and each one belongs to a different class. You get one shot at it, ever.

When your Cup runs

The month after you debut. Debut in July and the August Cup is yours; debut in August and it's the September one.

Which Cup is yours comes down to when you first went live:

⏰ What counts is the moment you started the stream, not when it passed the 30-minute mark. That window runs on IRIAM's daily reset, which is 4:00 AM ET in summer and 3:00 AM ET in winter, so a stream you started in the small hours of the 1st belongs to the month before. If you started right around a month boundary, check Event and Date Rollover Times in IRIAM.

Every Cup starts on the third Tuesday — 7:00 PM ET in summer, 6:00 PM ET in winter — and runs for seven days, closing the following Monday night.

There's no second chance at it, so when your month comes around, join it.

Two of the five prizes have nothing to do with your rank

This isn't an event where nothing happens unless you finish near the top.

Stream four days and the background is yours. Everyone who debuted the same month will have it — it marks your debut month for good. There's a Rookie Cup certificate to post on X as well: proof you ran the whole way with your Rookie Class. The ranking prizes stack on top of that.

How to join

You have to join it yourself, before you go live — the same as any event. Streams you run without having joined don't count, even inside the event period.

Things that catch people out

  • You can't check your streaming day count from the event page. Keep track of it yourself
  • The background arrives after the event ends, once the streaming days are tallied. It won't show up right away. There's no expiration date on it
  • The Rookie Spotlight page goes up in the app once it's made, and stays for about two weeks

Common questions

Do I have to rank high to be featured? No. The top 15 are all featured on the Rookie Spotlight page. And if you stream all seven days and are still live when the event closes, your name goes on the page too.

Do I need to stream every day? Four days gets you the background and the certificate. All seven — finishing live — gets your name on the Rookie Spotlight page.

Do I have to join? It isn't mandatory. But this is the one month your Rookie Class runs together, and it doesn't come round again.
