IRIAM Dev Diary (Dec. 2025)

Hi everyone!

This is the IRIAM US team.

This month, we don’t have many big, “you can immediately see it” updates. Instead, we’ve been using this time to prepare a few things that will make IRIAM even more fun—and easier to keep enjoying—going into next year.

So today, we’d like to give you an early heads‑up about three things:

  • Making our Discord server permanent
  • Piloting a “Fan Badge count” requirement for Premium Events
  • A streamer referral campaign

1) The Anniversary Discord is becoming “IRIAM Town”

First of all—thank you so much to everyone who joined us on the Anniversary Discord in November!

The conversations, creations, and stories you shared during IRIAM Anniversary Party Week are treasures our team will never forget.

We also heard so many of you say: “Please don’t close this place,” and “We want a space where the whole IRIAM community can gather again.” After Party Week ended, we felt the exact same way. There was such a wonderful atmosphere in the server—it felt like a waste to let it end as a one‑week festival.

So right now, we’re working on a plan to refresh this Anniversary Discord server and turn it into a permanent community server: IRIAM Town.

What we want IRIAM Town to be

We want IRIAM Town to feel like a “town square” where Streamers and Viewers can casually drop by and connect.

  • A place where people can meet beyond individual stream communities
  • A front door where new IRIAM users can feel, “I think I can enjoy streaming / watching safely here”
  • A place where you can start your own projects, plan collabs, and share ideas

We’d love to carry the atmosphere that was born during the Anniversary into something we can enjoy as part of everyday life.

Planned January refresh (maintenance + re‑open)

Sometime in January, we’ll do some server clean‑up (a little “renovation”), and then we plan to re‑open with the refreshed Town setup—so please look forward to it!

2) Premium Events and Fan Badges (Starting January)

Starting in January, we’re going to try something new related to event eligibility.

The key here is Fan Badges.

Fan Badges

Fan Badges are proof of “how much you supported a streamer that month.” You earn them through real, ongoing support—watching streams, chatting, sending Gifts, and more.

Starting in January: Adding a Fan Badge requirement for Premium Events

Beginning in January, we’ll pilot the following eligibility rule for Premium Events:

In the previous month, your community must have earned a total of 10 Fan Badges.

The star level doesn’t matter—★1 () / ★2() / ★3 () each counts as 1.

We’ll be keeping a close eye on how this feels in practice, and we may adjust the numbers and/or expand the scope over time.

At the same time, we’re also planning to create more events that are easier for more people to join. We don’t want Premium Events to be “the whole event experience.” In 2026, we want to widen the entry points.

Why introduce this rule?

By referencing the previous month’s Fan Badge count, we hope Premium Events become a place where Streamers who keep showing up consistently can take on a big challenge together with a community that’s built up momentum.

Premium Event prizes can include things like store collaborations, outdoor ads, and brand‑new Live2D models—special opportunities that can be hard to access. Because of that, we want those challenges to feel connected to your day‑to‑day effort and the support you build over time.

⛰️

A quick metaphor from the IRIAM team

We often compare IRIAM events to climbing a mountain. 🗻

Of course, we want the view from the top (the prizes) to feel exciting—but what we care about even more is the experience of you and your community climbing together. The tough moments, the fun moments, the memories you create, and the bonds that grow stronger along the way… we believe that’s one of the biggest values IRIAM can offer.

And when it comes to mountains, not every climb should feel the same. Some climbs are big and challenging. Others are more casual and easy to join. Premium Events are meant to be one of those “Everest‑level” challenges.

This Fan Badge requirement is our way of setting a baseline—so Premium Events can stay a place where communities come in prepared and ready to climb together.

And in 2026, we’ll be putting extra effort into creating mountains of many different heights—many different kinds of events—for many different communities.

⚠️

One request

Fan Badges represent the accumulation of real support. Please refrain from intentionally inflating Fan Badge counts in ways that violate our Terms of Service (for example, abusive multi‑account behavior). If serious violations are confirmed, we may invalidate Fan Badges and/or event results.

If you’re a Streamer and your goal is to be “ready to join Premium Events anytime,” one simple guideline could be aiming for “10 Fan Badges per month from your Viewers.”

And as a heads‑up: the first Premium Event in January that will reference the previous month’s Fan Badge count is planned to be a collab event with North American Sake Brewery—which was a huge hit last time! 🍶

We’ll share full details soon, so please look forward to it!

3) A Streamer Referral Campaign (Starting January)

One more early announcement: we’re preparing a campaign scheduled to start in January.

If you’re already streaming on IRIAM and you introduce a friend who wants to stream on IRIAM (a streamer candidate), and that candidate is officially approved to debut as an Early Access Streamer, we’ll gift a special matching in‑app background that both the referrer and the new Streamer can use as a pair.

↑ Here’s one of the backgrounds we’re working on! The left one is for the Streamer who referred someone, and the right one is for the Streamer who was referred—both will be usable in the IRIAM app.

What kind of campaign is this?

Think of it as: “It’s easier to take the first step when you have a partner starting alongside you.”

For the person being introduced, it can be a push to try something new. For the person doing the introducing, it’s the joy of gaining a new teammate—and growing together.

Details coming in January

We’ll share the full details (how to apply, requirements, etc.) once January begins. If you’re already streaming on IRIAM and you have someone in mind—someone you think would be a great fit to stream on IRIAM—feel free to reach out to them over the holidays.

This Dev Diary was a little different from our usual “here’s what just updated.” This time, we focused on a preview of what’s coming next.

What do you think?

By the way—2026 will also include a number of other updates we’re excited about, like expanding service to Canada 🇨🇦 and adding new “always‑available” Gifts, along with more surprises. Please look forward to those, too!

Until the next entry,

— IRIAM US Team
